If your son is quite young, then it is more normal to start on the cornet first, which my son did at primary school level, he then graduated to a trumpet.

Wondering if anyone has a trumpet they would be willing to loan (or sell if price reasonable) to my son for a month to try before he commits to learning and buying one. We promise to look after it well.
