Old coins (and a few stamps)

Ah.  Could be something.  Could be nothing.

Do not clean or polish any of the coins. Cleaning can substantially reduce their value, even when a coin looks very dirty.

The British Numismatic Trade Association has a directory of established member dealers operating under its code of ethics.

Tayler & Fletcher auctioneers at Bourton on the water were helpful to me in a similar situation... I also sold several via Ebay after checking existing listings on the site.

I'm back from a visit to my 87 year old mother. Helping her declutter.

Amongst the many things is a small box full of old coins, some victorian, perhaps some maundy money and pre-independence Indian currency. It's probably 60 years old, a few more recent commemorative coins from the 1960s.

How to value and what to do with this collection. I suspect most will have little value, though some might. 

I'm not trying to make money out of it (happy for proceeds to go to CRAG or equivalent - subject to my mother's agreement). 

Any thoughts about how to proceed?
