Tue 1 Sep, 12:28 I'm afraid I do sometimes get the "go elsewhere" message, but in my case it's when there is a national or international shortage of the prescribed medication, and Averose have been unable to obtain it, despite repeat requests. When it's a medication that I need in order to function (relatively) normally, it can be quite traumatic to be told this. Averose would be hoping that some other pharmacy might have some of the medication in stock, or be part of a different ordering chain. "Go elsewhere" is, in my case, usually a useless piece of advice, and I end up having to go back to CMC to see if they are able to prescribe or source an alternative. Sometimes I or CMC have to contact the hospital for advice. There are now strict government guidelines for what can, and cannot, be ordered as an alternative, and some of the medicines available to me in the past are now prioritised for infants and babies and those unable to swallow large tablets. It's all extremely stressful, and sometimes the staff in the pharmacy don't seem aware of how serious the situation is for the patient/customer. But the problem is with the system, not with the pharmacy. I don't think it fair to compare it with the way the pharmacy operated years ago. I do suggest that anyone who receives "go elsewhere" advice asks some further questions about quite why the medication is currently unavailable via Averose. Also look online to see if you can work out the possible reasons for the shortage. |

Tue 1 Sep, 11:44 I've always received superlative service from Asim and all his staff at Averose. It is a real amenity to have this in Charlbury. With the passing years, I find that I need more and more diverse medications. Asim's advice is a great adjunct to that of the hard-pressed GPs. I've never been told to go elsewhere for anything, although I have, understandably, been told that I might have to wait a few days for something. The home delivery service is a Godsend for me, as I'd struggle to get to Averose on the bus. Those who deliver are always so kind and courteous; one feels that, for Averose, "nothing is too much trouble." |

Tue 1 Sep, 10:07 (last edited on Tue 1 Sep, 10:18) I am sure this is not one of the principles of the Aversose Pharmacy owner (their website states "100% dedication" after all). I've always found the owner to be very affable and helpful.. I understand he owns more than 1 pharmacy and can't be at both and in my experience some staff take a different attitude when the boss is away.. |

Tue 1 Sep, 10:04 What I don't understand is that if Aversose don't have one of your prescribed medications, instead of ordering it in, they frequently tell you to go elsewhere. I don't understand this businness acumen. When Dean Vincent ran the pharmacy, he couldn't do enough to help. |

Sun 30 Aug, 13:48 (last edited on Sun 30 Aug, 13:54) Not sure what you mean by long calls as it isn't a long call until someone picks up. Do you mean they take a long time to answer? They are probably talking to customers in the shop. |
