If you or anyone else notices this again, Helen, can I suggest you take some photos of the cigarette butts. Also report it to the Fire Service and local police.

What happened in Stourbridge, Pershore, near Stratford and also Stoke could easily happen here. As a child I was quite often caught up in gorse fires on the North Downs -- on one occasion, stuck up a smallish oak tree while the fire burnt all around -- as terrifying as you might imagine. And that was when the countryside was far less dry and parched than it is now.

I noticed 5 cigarette buts left at even intervals on two paths - a real concern with houses so close as well.  I have never seen any there before & know how easy it is for fire to take hold.
