Not sure why that would be. Are you using 365? Or is it a separate install ? You should have a language option.

Thanks Chris - I am using new Outlook and agree it's a poor replacement for the "classic" version. The trouble is if I try to switch to classic, it loads in Portuguese, and I don't speak Portuguese!

Check if you are using ‘new’ outlook or ‘classic’ outlook. New outlook has much less functionality than classic. In particular what is called outlook automation-a means by which apps can interact with outlook - does not (and never will) work with new outlook

outlook automation was due to be retired in 2029, but apparently that has been brought forward to this year

Until now, users had a choice as to which outlook to install but you may find that choice has been taken away from you.

There are two basic methods of downloading emails -pop3 and imap. The former literally downloads and stores emails on your device (although you have the option of also leaving them on the server). Imap stores your emails on the email server. So far as I am aware, new outlook only handles imap.

so could be a number of issues, potentially more relevant to business users than personal users

It may not be just an i-phone issue.

I've been having issues with my android phone and windows 11 Outlook after yesterday's systems update which sent my PC into a blank screen and BitLocker recovery. It's been driving me mad, and is still not fully resolved. I don't want my devices to act in tandem, but can't seem to opt out of keeping my work and home email accounts separate.

Try looking at PCMag online, in case that helps.

Until a week ago, my desktop Outlook email and my I-phone mail worked perfectly together. For some reason, they no longer do.

If anyone has any experience of solving this sort of issue I'd be grateful for some help - I've done several of the million+ solutions posted online, without success.
