Tue 21 Jul, 05:54 I concur with you Neil, it seems like a deliberate attempt to start a wildfire in an area very close to habitation. I noticed the pile last night but like you didn't have a bag with me but I will go back this morning and collect the debris. The police need to be notified just for information in case there are any further attempts. I will retain the items for a while in case there are any more future issues. |

Mon 20 Jul, 13:22 This morning on a walk I found several empty solvent canisters (alloy wheel detailing and cleaning solvent), a half-melted plastic bottle and some partially burnt Lego magazine paper in the corner of a Ditchley field off of Quarry Lane. It looked like they’d been used to start a fire and then discarded. I didn’t have a bag to collect the litter but I did pile them together (they had been strewn). I have photos if anyone wants to identify the contents. Please don’t use this to pile on in a social media frenzy but just remind others (in case a reminder was required) that that the fields are dangerously dry. If it was an attempted fire, whether in jest or otherwise, it could have ended very badly indeed. |
