Thu 9 Apr, 13:38 I would think most of the problem would be solved if the weight of EVERY piece of traffic going down Dyers Hill and crossing the bridge with its weight restriction was mechanical measured and EVERY breach of the restriction was taken to court with the exception of farm vehicles which are easy to identify . I was not happy this morning when a huge coach was about 2 inches from my window. |

Thu 9 Apr, 11:56 (last edited on Thu 9 Apr, 12:01) I agree with James Lunney in principle but I don't think the idiots would take any notice. They won't be compelled to take notice unless they have no other choice! |

Thu 9 Apr, 11:37 It's been getting gradually worse largely down to the increase of non local traffic that doesn't stop to look around the corner at the top of dyers hill, I've seen quite a few near misses and been blocked a few times by cars coming around the corner without looking. I don't think a traffic light would work, however a "stop" sign might, given anyone sensible stops there anyway it might stop the idiots who wizz around without looking. Or at least reduce it slightly. The other issue of bins pushing people into the road has been made worse of late because the house on the corner is now an Airbnb charging £300+ a night. As such nobody lives there to bring the bins in on Tuesday morning so they are left out far longer (they did the same with Christmas trees this January) and you end up stepping out into the road |

Thu 9 Apr, 09:34 You have to stop and give way to traffic when at Dyers Hill or Nine Acres Lane anyway so how would traffic lights solve the speeding issue? If anything, it'll create more congestion, more emissions and a waste of money. Not only would it be an eyesore, but how would pedestrians with mobility issues navigate round them on such a narrow street? The other surrounding roads would be gridlocked if a traffic light system was implemented on Thames Street; do we want a repeat of Wilderness all year round? |

Thu 9 Apr, 07:22 My concern when walking down Thames Street is being knocked by a wing mirror especially when the bins are out. One wide vehicle badly parked and a truck coming down - there ain't enough width. |
