This Monday at Centennary Woods, Youth Town Council and CYC recently met with:

• Anne Miller (Land & Nature Group)

• Christine Elliot

• Leighton Simmons (Senior Ecologist, West Oxfordshire District Council)

• Bryanna Bone (Youth Ambassador, Charlbury) (took the photo!)

• Heidi Leyland (Youth Town Council Clerk & CYC Leader)

• Monty (CYC student leader)

We began discussions on YTC’s exciting Youth Wildflower Project 🌼

The proposed strip borders a hedge that requires maintenance, and we explored the idea of hedge laying as part of the project to enhance biodiversity and create a thriving natural habitat.

You can read more about the project here: https://pdflink.to/5d183da5

We’ll be starting recruitment this autumn with local young people for the hedge laying, but if anyone is interested in volunteering or getting involved, we’d love to hear from you—please reach out.

If you would like to be involved in other aspects of the project such as biodiversity monitering, planting, or more we would love to have you

Let’s work together to make this a vibrant space for both people and wildlife 🌿
