Suggestions for donating knitting yarn, please.

I have (i) vast quantities of knitting yarn, and (ii) a crook left hand.   I used to turn out complicated sweaters at the rate of one every couple of months; now it's one a year and not really enjoyable, so I'm giving it away.   There's enough to swaddle an elephant, all sorts of colours, wool and other fibres.  Probably enough to fill four or five of those big black rubbish sacks.   Can anyone suggest where I can donate?  Your average charity shop would probably be overwhelmed or have to change its business model, so I guess I'm looking for a dedicated knitting community or similar.   

I can also donate quantities of accessories and quite a few pattern books.
