What was so wrong with the compostable bags? They doubled up as a kitchen caddy bag.

When the governent introduced the levy it was not supposed to make bags a profit making exercise. 10p is one thing - then it rose to 20 p and now the bags for life are 40p. Who are the charities that the bags raise money for? It's never been clear to me. I'm not suggesting or inferring that the money does not go to charity I just don't know who the charities are - how much goes to the charitable cause?

You don't always plan to go to convenience shops so this is something of a pain. If they want to get people to move away from single use plastic bags have a blanket ban on bags altogether! Otherwise you end up with people amassing loads of bags for life!

Don't get me wrong, I love our Co-op, I just don't understand the decision to get rid of the compostable bags in a cost of living crisis. It might seem petty to some very rich people that drive their flashy cars at a rate of knots around the town but everything adds up
