Thu 5 Mar, 18:32 According to the BBC, Thames Water is reporting that the number of people affected by water shortages might well increase to "the tens of thousands". See www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8755nx5x2no It's worth signing up for priority water deliveries if you or a family member qualifies, i.e. if there is somebody in the home who is over state pension age, has a disability, or a chronic or acute health condition or a child under 5. Full list of qualifying conditions are listed here: www.thameswater.co.uk/help/get-extra-help/priority-services I understand that the traffic near the water distribution point in Witney was dreadful this afternoon. There's now a 2nd distribution point in Witney, as well as one in Carterton. See the previous links provided by Marjorie Glasgow for updates. |

Thu 5 Mar, 18:03 Drove to and from Witney earlier and it looked like Thames Water was topping up the service reservoir in Finstock from road tankers. |

Thu 5 Mar, 13:57 (last edited on Thu 5 Mar, 13:58) Have just returned from Charlbury Garden Centre, where the restaurant and loos are closed due to a lack of water supply. Could be worse - could be in Tehran. |

Thu 5 Mar, 13:28 Have just got back from witney which was full of Thames Water vehicles Not parked very well. The lay-bys outside charlbury are full of water tankers but apart from that the countryside is very spring like . Since Covid removed my sense of spell I will not notice the unwashed bodies etc if our water is cut off!!! |

Thu 5 Mar, 13:05 Does anyone know whether anybody in Charlbury has lost their water supply? There was a map of the affected areas up late last night, but that map had disappeared by this morning. From the map it looked as people near Fawler Road were most likely to be affected, plus Finstock, Hailey, North Leigh and parts of Witney. |
