Thu 12 Feb, 08:48 (last edited on Thu 12 Feb, 08:49) After all this rain, wouldn’t we just love to see the sun? And in Charlbury that matters more to the community than elsewhere. Because sun means green electricity from Southill Solar, and community benefit paid out in grants from the solar farm’s surpluses. Did you know? Sustainable Charlbury (the linked charity) has awarded funds to Charlbury Community Centre, the Bowls Club, the Corner House and above all to Charlbury Primary School to make those buildings more comfortable and cheaper to run. Restoring the Mill Field to a flood plain meadow is a project funded through a grant to the town council. And there is more funding for local projects to follow. Southill Community Energy AGM - open to all residents who want to learn more. (Formal AGM business for members only from 7.30pm) Save the date: 4th March 6.30-7.30pm Memorial Hall The AGM will cover: · Work undertaken from Sustainable Charlbury grants · Updates from the solar field · How you could buy our solar electricity direct Keep it local! |
