Thu 29 Jan, 22:06 John is not only a friendly guy - he also cares. I know that he has helped numerous local people not only by being a trust first and suspicious second person but by using his faith in humanity to get help to those that needed it. East Charlbury in particular will miss him, he will be a hard act to follow and I for one will regret him leaving but trust that his legacy will stand as due testament. Enjoy your retirement Sir and keep up the squash (with Green muscle Gel!) and may you manage to sleep in more often. |

Thu 29 Jan, 09:18 I popped into Londis this morning and there's a notice announcing John's retirement after 38 years of unstinting service to Charlbury. His last day "in the office" will be this coming Sunday. John will be an incredibly tough act to follow. Always on the lookout for his customers. Here's to a long and enjoyable retirement, and hopefully we'll see him back on the football pitch now he'll have a bit more time on his hands. Thanks for everything John, and good luck! |
