Do not walk at the crossroads.

I'm impressed that and driver can manage that in a 20 mph zone at such a tight junction. Perhaps there had been a collision. I recall some years back the OpenReach VDSL green box next to the bus stop at the Enstone Crossroads was wiped out by two vehicles colliding.

Unfortunately walking down from the anywhere near the Slade involves the perils of the navigating the Enstone Crossroad or those of Crawborough, unless willing to take a long detour, one down an even worse, unlit and often muddy path or via Dancer's Hill.

Just in case people think that I'm exaggerating the perils of Crawborough, just a few months ago a local resident tripped and fell in the dark and injured herself badly enough that it required an emergency ambulance call and treatment for concussion and several stitches.

Damian – that must have been really scary for you. And a shock – hope that you are okay?

Yesterday was really really busy on the roads. I went to/from Witney with a friend and there were bottlenecks when there weren’t usually bottlenecks in Witney and some very erratic driving with cars and vans over taking on the roads when it really wasn’t at all safe to do so - speed limit wise and blind bends.

On getting home, on-line it said: ‘don’t travel today, it is the busiest day of the year all year re volume of traffic on the roads’….

Many schools were breaking up for Christmas yesterday with families travelling to their destination to make the most of the Christmas break.

Also a New Moon today. New and Full moons can make people quite emotional and behave irrationally. Not sure what the scientific research is, but it definitely does!

In Winter, when foggy, you see dogs out walking with their owners with reflective iridescent collars and coats which help them to be seen on a dark Winter night.

Re pedestrian safety - a good plan is for people out on foot to buy high visibility jackets and/or arm bands plus head torches (like the miners used to wear) or hand held torches with a strong beam that help people on foot to be very visible in Winter. There are a few people who do locally, but not nearly enough, including cyclists.

A good plan for the Christmas gift list - inexpensive.

Which crossroads would that be, The Slade-Enstone Road-Nine Acres? I had to avoid a car twice when crossing yesterday afternoon.

Dear Everyone

Take extra care at the crossroads.
Last night. Almighty bang and found a VW in my garden.

Time for a rethink of pedestrian safety. Anyone out on a walk would have a short Christmas.
