There was 1 occasion when it was a potential ‘crush’ situation at Oxford caused by a combination of factors including rush hour and multiple train delays at the same time. Because I know the station well, I knew how to extricate myself by the best route, but tourists wouldn’t know this and people with mobility issues and parents with push chairs would be stuck in the crowd. I felt very worried for my safety and those of others.

Put simply, currently Oxford station isn't suitable for the volume of people using it, magnified at certain times of year.

‘Pretty lousy’ captures it. Apart from station improvements to reflect a higher footfall, incredibly there is no current thought given to creating a linked bus hub.
Here’s a petition to address that https://lcon.org.uk/current-activities/oxfordshire-for-buses/
