Fri 31 Oct, 13:10 (last edited on Fri 31 Oct, 19:39) I take the apples I pick locally from gardens and orchards to The Cornerstone at The Corner House for anyone to take - these are sun-ripened, unsprayed and natural. We have dozens of varieties to enjoy ripening from July through to November - discover they all taste different - and this year I am storing Bramleys to extend the supply into the winter months. Also on a Friday I take along to The Cornerstone any uncollected Kitchen Garden People shares from the previous week (thank you James for the mention below). I am one of the founders and we do have a few spaces available if anyone would like to sign-up for a weekly share of whatever we harvest each week. The Cornerstone provides everyone in Charlbury the opportunity to eat a wide range of wholesome food from the surplus food stream - one of the best things you can do to help the planet. As well as surplus food grown by local people in gardens and allotments, they also receive food from local shops, SOFEA and the Oxford Food Hub which both get surplus food from supermarkets, restaurants, wholesalers, etc. The food is free to everyone, but donations are welcome to cover running costs and the purchase of additional grocery basics for the weekly food parcels they provide to help support the households in need within the town. |

Wed 29 Oct, 12:28 Charlbury Green Hub (a great local resource) has a list of local food suppliers. Some mentions are out of date but it is still useful: https://www.charlburygreenhub.org.uk/food/local-seasonal-food.html And many local people shop at Styan's vegetable stall outside the Community centre every Saturday morning. Perhaps not organic but almost all grown near Evesham. |

Mon 27 Oct, 16:59 The Chadlington Kitchen Garden People's produce is great: https://www.thekitchengardenpeople.org/ They are so good, in fact, that I believe there is a waiting list, but it's worth waiting for. Delicious and you can pretty much see where it's farmed from Charlbury! |

Mon 27 Oct, 15:51 (last edited on Mon 27 Oct, 15:52) Its not quite a shop per-se - but we use https://www.riverford.co.uk which is a workers' co-operative that supplies organic (and fairly sourced) fruit, vegetables, meat, some store cupboard essentials, breads and dairy. They deliver weekly (on a Monday) to Charlbury. There is also a great community supported agriculture project nearby - others will know more about that. |

Mon 27 Oct, 07:15 Hi all 👋 can anyone recommend Organic farm shops near Charlbury? I used to work near Cirencester and visit Abbey Home Farm which is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it but unfortunately i’m no longer working down that way. Are there any nearby that people purchase from? Thank you in advance! |
