BATTLE FOR FASTER BROADBAND

Oxon County Council (Dawn Pettis 01865 816082)need proof urgently that rural communities and businesses want faster broadband before accessing a new government grant. They also have to find private partner companies to share the cost. Fibre optic cable target is 20MB not the measly 2MB Cameron mentioned. There is no commitment, you just fill in a short online survey form giving present speed and how much you might be prepared to pay for an improved service. I personally would be 'reluctantly willing' to pay more to get a useable speed. In Taston we get from .2 to 2.0 max which is hopeless. Go to www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/wps/portal/public site, click on 'Broadband in Oxfordshire' link on right side. Without our backing they can't act.
