Mon 20 Oct, 19:08 Thank you for your concern. I can assure you no quad or motorbikes have been within the quarry. I can assure you no permission has or will be given now or in the future. The owners/share holders new and old don't need permission should they decide to access the property for any reason. They are however restricted on both speed and where they can and cannot go. The quarry is a site of special scientific interest and has the highest legal protection of any piece of land of this nature. The riding of motorbikes or quad bikes in the property would be taken as trespass/criminal damage of a site of special scientific interest. It can result in a prison sentence and fines in the thousands before taking into account the wildlife and countryside act 1981. I hope this helps to reassure you that it will will not be open for use of quad/motorbikes or other use for the foreseeable future. If anyone witnesses anyone trespassing or breaking in please don't approach them but feel free to report it to the police on 101or if need be 999. Thank you. |

Sat 18 Oct, 17:36 Not sure if this comes under ‘Main Board’ or ‘Roads’, but was walking the dogs up Quarry Lane this afternoon when I was aware of what sounded like several Quad Bikes in the Quarry. God only knows how they got access but I understood that one of the reasons, way back when public access was denied to the public, that one of the reasons the owner gave was that it was to become a wildlife haven. To hear those idiots tearing around the place just makes me see red. Is there anything that can be done to ensure this does not become a regular race track for them? |
