Food Bank...the elephant in the room"

At last what a very sensible comment from Paul. In order for the Deli to make a profit to pass on to the corner house ( which sorely needs it,) it must have as much space as possible in view of passing trade to make meaningful amounts of money. It will also need a manager and directors who are experienced in running such a concern. So far no one suitable has put their name forward but hopefully if the present situation can be sorted out people will be encouraged to take it on

It is clear to many that if a  community café is going to be in the right location in the Corner House (CH) and commercial in area the excellent Food Bank which is not dependent on passing trade or the garden should be moved from its existing location.

There was a question in the forum “what about the Methodist Church” which I have not seen the answer. Clearly if obtained by the existing team it would be excellent, allowing for an expansion and creativity as a social centre.

A completely new genuine charity (simliar to Street Fair) would then run the café with paid staff and volunteer back up at peak times especially when there is  good weather so  using the garden.

Although I didn't get an answer at the CH annual "report to the public meeting" (which it wasn't at all) to my question "does CH need more funds I know from being a former trustee it certainly does!
