It's working fine here for me using Firefox, though I have no login for it, I'm just using it.

Some newspaper websites will not allow you to browse without having a login or for some a paid for subscription but it appears that's not so for The Independent.

You say your network sometimes drops out so I wonder if you have a bigger problem than simply this newspaper's website.

Does anyone else have a problem when they log on to the Independent newspaper site?  For about a month now I've had episodes where everything runs painfully slowly (if at all), the internet keeps dropping out, and sometimes the beast doesn't shut down properly.   I fed my IT whisperer on the best chocolate biscuits, and he got it going again, but the problem re-emerged ... I've experimented as best I can, and conclude that opening the Independent is to blame.

I wondered whether anyone else had the same experience?   Or has problems that my experience might help with?

You used to be able to fix anything with a can of WD-40 and a tin of talcum powder.   Grrrr.
