Tue 9 Dec, 22:57 So sorry to hear this. Harriet. It's worth asking for the special security screws if you haven't already had the number plates replaced. It now looks as if my plates were removed between 3 pm and 10 pm on Saturday, not in the middle of night as I had originally supposed. Our local PC (Bruce) has said that he will try to look at the ANPR cameras when he comes back on duty. He knocked on my door, having noticed the number plates were missing. It would be great if he could find a way of tracing these blighters. |

Tue 9 Dec, 18:28 My number plates were also stolen today on Woodstock Road. It was between 12:30 and 1pm - fast workers! Apparently there have been a number of thefts in the last few days alone. Police are aware. |

Sun 7 Dec, 18:07 My number plates were stolen from my car parked at the bottom end of Ditchley Rd. sometime over the weekend. I now know that this happened sometime before 10 pm. on the evening of Saturday 6th December or perhaps during the night of Friday 5th or even during the day on Saturday 6th. If anyone spotted somebody acting suspiciously, or fiddling with a tiny silver hatchback car parked on Ditchley Road, please could you let me know at what time of day you noticed it. Thank you! There have been a spate of number plate thefts over the last few months, including an earlier theft from a car parked outside a nearby property. |

Sun 21 Sep, 06:45 (last edited on Sun 21 Sep, 06:51) I am very sorry that this happened to you, Sue, but this has been happening in Charlbury for years. The thieves generally pick cars parked where the street lighting is poor. I have also been a victim, but not recently. It also happened to another car parked in the Ditchley Rd in the summer (before the ANPR camera was installed). It's worth asking the garage to use anti-theft screws on the number plates when you get them replaced. |

Sat 20 Sep, 23:22 Criminals have been travelling from out of area for at least the last 6 months now to commit crimes, vehicle break-ins, burglaries etc. They will use the plates on another vehicle they’re using to commit the above crimes and to avoid ANPR cameras flagging them. It’s interesting that this has happened as soon as we have had an ANPR camera fitted on Thames Street, they’re clearly aware it’s there. |

Fri 19 Sep, 23:30 We live in Charlbury, parked our car on Grammer School Hill because of the Street Fair activities being close to where we live. When we went to pick our car up at 7.15pm both number plates had been taken off the car, not at all great as you can imagine. Police are informed. But this should not have happened in Charlbury....... |
