Update again: It was only a couple of branches of a willow tree near a bridge over the Thames.

Trains beginning to move again. Oxford Mail has updates.

Update: a train struck the fallen tree in Oxford. No platforms are available at Oxford for the time being.

A tree blocking the railway at Oxford means some lines are currently closed. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 14:00 today (15/9).

Route(s) affected: GWR services between London Paddington and Great Malvern / Hereford / Oxford / Worcester Foregate Street / Worcester Shrub Hill; also between Didcot Parkway and Banbury / Oxford

Also Chiltern Railways services between London Marylebone and Oxford

Also CrossCountry services between Bournemouth and Manchester Piccadilly, also between Reading and Newcastle
