Fri 12 Sep, 12:37 The idea ( re Bell application ) that there is parking either on Church Street or in the Spendlove Is clearly fanciful And no doubt the problem of car parking in Charlbury will be foremost in the minds of the town council when they look at this application. Goodness knows where Beyoncé and friends will park when they pop by whilst they’re doing up there house! |

Fri 12 Sep, 09:31 The Bull's Land Rover is parked in Spendlove most days now, it's clear they really don't give a damn about the parking issues they cause. |

Thu 11 Sep, 21:13 (last edited on Thu 11 Sep, 21:33) It is good to see local businesses doing well and expanding, but not at the expense of others. I previously objected to the reduction in parking spaces at The Bull. This afternoon, The Bull’s Land Rover was occupying a space at the Spendlove Centre Car Park which was full. If it was parked there all day it will have deprived numerous people of parking opportunities to pop to the Co-op, the Library or pick up a prescription.

Wed 10 Sep, 10:11 Well I think personally that this request is very sensible and should be granted. |

Wed 10 Sep, 07:36 (last edited on Wed 10 Sep, 07:36) I wonder if the reason for not requesting to extend their carpark is the fact that the garden is a protected green space under the neighbourhood plan - in which case it is more convenient to argue that there is sufficient alternative parking available. |

Tue 9 Sep, 19:27 A planning application for The Bell was listed on this website at the start of this week. See 25/02030/FUL The application includes a proposal for an extension to the rear of The Bell. It is pointed out that the size of the proposed extension means that there is a technical requirement for up to 6 additional parking spaces to be provided. However, the claim is made that this requirement for additional parking can be disregarded because "sufficient public parking provision is available in the vicinity of the site. This includes controlled on-street parking on surrounding roads, as well as a public car park located at the Spendlove Centre". I am sure I not alone in believing that there isn't sufficient parking in Church Street or, indeed, at the Spendlove Centre. An extra 6 parking places would be extremely valuable if the building is to be expanded in the way proposed. People have until Thursday 2nd October to register objections to this or other aspects of the application -- or, indeed, to register support of you think that appropriate. |
