Fri 22 Aug, 22:36 Speaking of conservation, i’m always sad to see Cotswold stone built houses plastered over in an all white render. I was quite shocked when I saw this recently on a row of honey coloured cottage’s in Chadlington, I’m really surprised it was allowed to go ahead! |

Fri 22 Aug, 17:55 This neighbour would be delighted with a Rainbow flag, a St George flag, or a Red Dragon flag. Anything to brighten up the Old Drapery's grey, or the Church St prevailing dull honey. |

Fri 22 Aug, 17:37 Thank you to everyone for their ideas. In the Rose this evening, as I retired for a quiet pint of old fashioned bitter beer, I was ambushed by a lovely table of locals who gave me their opinions, including painting a Cross of St George across the front. I had to point out that as a Welshman, this was not possible. |

Fri 22 Aug, 09:59 Part of our house on Hixet Wood was painted with pink limewash at some stage in its history, as the remaining fragments clearly show. |

Fri 22 Aug, 09:03 Not sure if this helps Clive, its a quagmire and not sure it's ever become a legal issue as I look around Charlbury, so enjoy the paint shopping! https://www.westoxon.gov.uk/media/gm4bvw1q/19-design-guide-traditional-paint-colours.pdf |

Thu 21 Aug, 20:09 There are certainly rules on changing the external appearance of Listed Buildings and others in Conservation Areas. As far as I know, nothing specific to Charlbury but members of the Conservation Area Advisory Committee will be more up to date on this than I am (or ever was). Pink/yellow eh? How about the Rainbow flag with a pink background?? Might not go down so well with the neighbours though.... |

Thu 21 Aug, 13:51 If you have walked down Church street recently, you might have noticed odd colours painted on the grey house at the end( The Old Drapery). We are trying to decide on what colour to repaint the front. Does anyone know of any regulations/ restrictions on colour in our town? Current front runners are pink/ yellow. Thank you for any advice. |
