Fri 15 Aug, 10:24 I was wrong on the reason for the closure of the A44. I was briefly part of the town council traffic group some years ago, and I brought up the issue of a speed enforcement camera on the Slade. The then chair of the town council said it could not be done as the cost was some £ 70k. |

Fri 15 Aug, 07:18 I agree with you Alex, the 20mph limit appears to be widely flouted along the 2 roads you mention. I've not seen any Police speed camera vans for many months (they used to be quite frequently parked in the layby opposite the fire station). Clearly there is still quite a speeding problem on these 2 roads, a permanently installed enforcement camera would be beneficial. |

Thu 14 Aug, 22:04 According to one.network closure of A44 is due to felling of dead or decayed trees on the A44. Started Tuesday and should be finished today (Thursday). |

Thu 14 Aug, 17:28 Walking along Sturt Rd and The Slade today I was surprised by the sheer speed of (mainly) large articulated lorries. Is it just me or have others - especially those who live along these roads - also noticed this? |
