Mon 4 Aug, 11:40 I've finally obtained a copy of the Wilderness letter, from a post on facebook. It comes to something when the only way one can get information is from social media. I see that the letter does indeed warn about traffic cones on Hixet Wood, but as I never got it how would I know? |

Sun 3 Aug, 20:28 Thank you Christine. Helpful, as always. I can't recall any letter, but if it was about the road closures that would not apply anyway. I don't object to road closures (although some might, depending on where they live), I just want to be able to park nearby. Some consultation and/or notice, would be considerate, then one could be prepared and make plans. https://www.wildernessfestival.com/info/residents-information/ is helpful, thank you, but again, it doesn't help me. Perhaps if Wilderness didn't charge for parking on top of the price of tickets we might not have this problem? "Parking at the Wilderness Festival requires a car park pass, which can be booked in advance or purchased on arrival for £26." I'm told, but haven't drilled down, that years ago, the Wilderness organisers used to give free tickets to those of us who are inconvenienced. After all, it's not just the parking, but the cavalcade of juggernauts for weeks before and after the weekend. A little consideration would be much appreciated. I'd love to know where the organisers live so that I could "send the boys round" for a few weeks so that they could truly appreciate what it feels/sounds like. But what would I know? |

Sun 3 Aug, 19:23 You should have been exempt, Hannen as you are a resident. There was a letter that came round about the road closures. It's also online. Google Wilderness Residents' Information for the page. The restrictions also apply tomorrow until 8 pm, so I suggest you phone tomorrow if you need access. The number is 020 8080 1416. I hope you both enjoyed your break! |

Sun 3 Aug, 18:04 I believe that if you have a blue badge you can have a dedicated parking space close to your property; white lines defining the space with disabled painted with it . . . ? Kris |

Sun 3 Aug, 17:39 (last edited on Sun 3 Aug, 17:40) Please can the "powers that be" try and consult with local residents before dropping no parking cones around Five Ways? My wife and I returned from a short break away today only to find that we couldn't park within walking distance of our house. Particularly inconvenient as we had luggage. Furthermore, I have a blue badge and am registered disabled. I sincerely hope that the people who attend Wilderness enjoy themselves, and of course this has nothing to do with them, but can't the Gauleiters be held to account? |
