Thu 31 Jul, 11:39 Yes, thank you Rob for giving us a clearer picture now. That leak was on the last stretch of straight pipe parallel to the permissive track where it turns off into the woods leading to the Old Shed . I took a photo of it at the time ( but I doubt that would help much) |

Wed 30 Jul, 08:15 The product being spread is digestate from a plant at Cassington. It is coming on artic tanker lorries to the Saltway and pumped through 8inch pipes to the tractor with a 30m boom. The pump can push it up to 2.5km. There should not be a leak i will check that out. The ground around Hundley Way has had the winter wheat harvested and has been drilled with Stubble Turnips. The digestate should give the plant enough Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium to establish if we also get some rain. The turnips will be grazed with sheep through the winter then the ground will then be drilled with a flower mix next spring for pollinators and insects. |

Tue 29 Jul, 16:11 Fascinated this morning on walking up Hundley Way and off on path towards Old Shed, to see an over ground pipe ( laid on the ground) stretching further than I could see, while a tractor was in a nearby field spreading it with one of those wide “winged” spreaders. ( Sorry I don’t really “do” agricultural lingo.) |
