Fri 18 Jul, 17:05 There's an very recent audio documentary about the conditions of work for parcel delivery drivers on BBC Sounds. Called "Currently: Out for Delivery", it's the story as told by the delivery drivers, and certainly helps to explain why so many parcels are simply dropped off to a wrong address: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002fv4v It's a very depressing listen. At the time of recording DHL came out as the best employer for the drivers. A proposed merger between Evri and DHL Parcel Unit is now under investigation. If the merger goes ahead, it's likely that things will get even worse. |

Fri 18 Jul, 14:07 My recent experience with DPD has been appalling. I get a notification of a delivery due, then follow the tracking information and then my delivery seems to just disappear off the tracking system and later on a get a sorry we missed you type message. I've had this two days in a row at times. |

Thu 17 Jul, 18:35 I just had a similar experience. I was told by Amazon that my package had been delivered, but it hadn't. The photo of the "delivery" showed no 6's front door, not mine. So I toddled along and picked it up. I suspect that the reason for this carelessness is the low "drop" rate. Does anyone know what that is? |

Thu 17 Jul, 08:50 Thank you all for your comments. My parcel never turned up but got a replacement yesterday from Amazon. When I complained to DPD and Amazon they both insisted there was ‘proof’ of delivery. However, as my specific instruction regarding not leaving at front door was not carried out, they finally accepted responsibility. I agree I think the driver just invented an imaginary person to ‘sign’ for the parcel. |

Sat 12 Jul, 12:12 (last edited on Sat 12 Jul, 12:13) They can speak basic English when they want to! It's easier for them to pretend otherwise! |

Sat 12 Jul, 12:10 The drivers mostly won't even wait 2 minutes for you to check that they have delivered the correct item but always make sure they get their photo! What a way to run a business! |

Sat 12 Jul, 10:52 As they are paid to deliver items, it doesn't pay the driver to return it, so they'll sign it off themselves. The biggest problem is many of these couriers use many non English speaking drivers who can't read the language. |

Fri 11 Jul, 20:44 I have had this problem with DPD they leave parcels anyway. My last parcel they dumped by my bins, was signed for by an imaginary person called Lesky. The person who signed for yours might not exist. |

Fri 11 Jul, 14:47 Hello, I had a DPD delivery at Apple Tree Cottage at 12.51 today. the mote says signed for by Juli. I have no idea who this person is. The photo seems to show the item outside my door. Has anyone taken in my parcel for safekeeping? Many thanks, JP |
