and we see them all the time graham? clearly the one in question needs an MOT hence why it was posted about NOT having one

This is a 2006 BMW Mini so very much requires a current MOT.

Chris,  yes you will, the first convertible Mini was done by Crayford Conversions in 1963.  Many were converted up until 1993, when they were massed produced by BMW.

a mini convertible is not going to be over 40 years old

Just to let you know, a vehicle over 40 years old does not need to have an MOT or road tax.

yeah Simon according to the link it says it can go to the police if they are using the vehicle with no MOT

Contact your local police to report a car, van, motorcycle or other vehicle that does not have an MOT.

You can only report a vehicle with no MOT to the police if it’s being used on a road.

You need the vehicle’s:

number plate (registration number)

make and model

colour

location

Chris, I don't know if this guidance has changed recently. I reported a car a few years ago for no MOT and the police said it was nothing to do with them which I thought was odd as they would give you a ticket if they caught you driving.

Yes Kris, the Mini is still around but is moving so hasnt been abandoned. It still has no MOT though 🤷‍♂️

We recently had a break in on my works van and the police told us to report any suspicious vehicles that have been left for an unusual amount of time as they’re being used by thieves.

Apparently they can be used as markers, to store burglary tools, to test community awareness etc. Strangely there was a car parked behind my van and didn’t move for weeks and I wonder if it was related in some way but it has gone in the last couple of days so I won’t find out.

Hi all. There is a white Mini Convertible parked on Church Street with an expired MOT which doesnt appear to have moved recently. If anyone knows the owner, can you let them know.
