Mon 30 Jun, 09:40 The Charlbury Forum does it again! Many thanks to Chris, Richard and Alex here and to others who contacted me directly. It's amazing what people know. I've now got things to work on but the problem isn't yet solved to please still get in touch if you've any ideas... |

Thu 26 Jun, 16:48 A highly recommended software version of the Emulator II is available from French software giants Arturia. It can run standalone or in a DAW. No boot disk required! |

Tue 24 Jun, 17:26 (last edited on Tue 24 Jun, 17:41) I had an Emu ESI-32 (probably still in the loft somewhere!) – lovely piece of kit. But that connected to a hard drive. I wouldn’t bet that a 1980s floppy drive is still working, sadly. The best option is to replace the floppy drive with a SD card floppy emulator – these simulate the standard Shugart interface used by every floppy drive in the 1980s, but read from an SD card instead. You can read more and order one at https://hxc2001.com/floppy_drive_emulator/ (or there are some on eBay, I think) You can then download the boot disk image – http://www.emxp.net/HXC.htm – and put that on the SD card. |

Tue 24 Jun, 11:46 This is probably beyond the reach of even the mighty Charlbury Forum but... ...does anyone know where I might get hold of a boot disk for an E-MU Systems Emulator II? (It's a 1980s keyboard instrument and synthesiser.) And it uses the old 5.25" floppy disks... The gauntlet is down! If you've any ideas, please reach me via the Forum, by DM or on 07828 076358. |
