Thu 29 May, 01:06 In the Vicar's absence I've been deputed to lead a service of Holy Communion for the Feast of the Ascension at six o'clock this evening in St Mary's. All are very welcome! By an oversight some donated beer (Hook Norton's 'Haymaker') wasn't served at the recent lecture on the Nicene Creed, and so all who wish are invited to make some inroads into it after the service. Non-communicants welcome - just join us in church at 6.45 pm for the secular celebration. (If coming to church at all today, for worship or beer, is not your thing, then you could celebrate the Feast at home by observing the mediæval custom of eating a pigeon, pheasant, partridge .. or crow.) |
