Fri 25 Apr, 18:32 If you stand in the carpark in the 1hr spaces, there's one towards the left just over the wall. I haven't been in the car park for over a year, but as far as I remember it's the tallest of the trees you can see. There was also a seedling in the ground by the disabled spaces for a couple of years. It kept getting cut down and sprouting again, so never got very tall, but I think that's finally been got rid of. |

Fri 25 Apr, 17:53 Yes it's The Empress Tree. Also known as Paulownia tomentosa. It's everything you say, but I'm afraid it's not uncommon as many people want to grow it. |

Fri 25 Apr, 16:22 Hello all! I spotted a beautiful tree today coming out of Leafield so I done some investigation and found it to be a native tree to China and Korea called an Empress. Does anyone know how common they are in Britain? I don’t think I have ever seen one before and it was stunning! |
