Thu 24 Apr, 10:25 Just to confirm Cornerstone will operate from the Green Room until Friday 2nd May, and we will then move back into Corner House. Unsure whether we will open on Saturday 3rd May - watch this space - but we will be fully open again on Tuesday 6th May after the bank holiday. Many thanks Cornerstone team |

Wed 23 Apr, 22:46 (last edited on Thu 24 Apr, 07:49) We've had an excellent refurbishment of our Georgian sash windows, which are now invisibly secondary-glazed, draught-proof and all at last easily openable. Thank you, so much, to Sustainable Charlbury and our other sponsors (Street Fair, Beer Festival .. have I forgotten any?) for making this possible. The full effect will be felt next winter, and with further insulation to follow we shall have a lovely cosy building before long. Rooms in the Corner House are available again for hire from this coming Monday (28th): an online booking form is available on our website. The Anne Downer Room makes an excellent committee space, and the Morris Room is unique in Charlbury (and increasingly attractive & atmospheric as we refurbish it) as a period venue for larger gatherings and events. The bookshop will reopen from next Monday too, both to sell books (tell your friends & relations, because we still have more books than customers) and to receive them .. in the Albright Room (the back kitchen), please. Cornerstone will move back into the Corner House from the Memorial Hall on the following Monday (5th), and because we've been relying on them for opening & closing please be patient if we don't quite manage to keep to our usual hours of 10.00 am - 1.00 pm for the next few days. It will probably depend on when I can manage to open and close the building myself, and I'm not fully to be trusted. |
