Charlbury station bookstall

The bookstall is now open:  in the waiting room at the station and open therefore when the station building itself is.

Donations are welcome (just put them on the stall), but with limited space please try to ensure that they're suitable for context -- essentially something you can imagine someone (adult or child) wanting to read on the train.  Other sorts of books (and maps, CDs, DVDs) will still be welcome at the Corner House when it reopens at the end of the month.

All profits will be given to local charities.  I've still had no bids for that and so, faute de mieux, this month's charity will be the Corner House.

In the event I was offered two 'Billy's, and have sent the second one up the line to Moreton, where they're also starting a bookstall.

I'll let you know when the Charlbury bookstall opens. It will be managed by the redoubtable Carl, and the intention is to have an eclectic mixture of books, including railwayana, Cotswold-interest books and lesser-known & out-of-print titles, alongside the usual easy-reading 'airport-style' fiction.

All proceeds to local charities.

Hurrah! I've been offered a free 'Billy'. Thank you.

Charity supporters, please note point (2) below still.

There's going to be one in the waiting room soon, raising money for local charities.

1)  If you've got a tall (IKEA Billy-style) bookcase that you could donate, it will be very welcome.  GWR and/or I can buy one if necessary, but a donated one would mean that more money goes to charity.  I can collect.

2)  If your charity (local or locally-connected) would like to be an occasional "Charity of the Month" and receive that month's takings, please let me know.  Ideally you'd use the opportunity to galvanise your supporter-base into donating books for that month.
