Howden (used to be A-Plan) in Witney is a chain of brokers, and sorted out my Car Insurance for me when my premiums went through the roof. 

I was less happy with their House Insurance suggestions, but it is worth trying, and I may need to go back to them on house insurance this coming year.

Mr Howden is the current tenant of Cornbury Park, by the way.

I've just had a renewal quote at 4 times last year's premium and 2 other companies have simply said no - those who know where I live can guess why!  Pre-internet we used to go to local brokers - can anyone suggest one or a company that makes an actual judgment rather than just goes 'computer says no'??
