I think it is trees falling on powerlines.

Is a "cause" ever reported anywhere of how outages occurred, and presumably led to cascade of circuit breakers or whatever it is that results in a localised area or over wider spread areas of the supply system? Just wondering.

(Or would that be too useful for Putin and ilk....?)

Not all of Charlbury was OK - on the southern edge of the town (Fawler Road) we lost power at much the same time as Spelsbury, and only had it restored about an hour ago.  (Unable to report it here until now, though, without a working router or mobile phone signal.)

According to SSE PowerTrack Charlbury remains okay for now, but large area north (including Spelsbury), East (incl. Ditchley) and bits South are without power. Some bits of Ditchley Road closer in as well.  Aim to restore 13:00 on 08/12.

Total power outage in Spelsbury over an hour ago.

Only option to report is by phone.

All lines too busy!!

Would have notified by internet if possible but gave up after an hour trying!

National grid outage reporting map shows broad swathe running S.W. to N.E.  It's Southern boundary just North of us by a few miles but coast to coast outage right now. It's nevertheless out of date and I  for one can't update it despite trying.

Curious to know if Charlbury still has grid power? Can anyone confirm please?

Thanks Gary
