Wed 20 Sep 2023: Living with Grief and Loss: The Myths and Reality

This event is in the past.

Weds 20th Sept, 2023, 7.15pm doors for 7.30pm start

Friends Meeting House, Market St, Charlbury, OX7 3PH

£5 on the door

A short, informal talk challenging some of our biggest societal myths about how to cope with grief and loss - and clarifying the reality.

Grief is the natural and normal response to any kind of loss or significant change. How we are socialised to cope with grief is much less normal, and not always very natural.

While the talk will touch on an introduction to grief theory, it will  mostly draw on personal experience, including work with clients as a Grief Recovery Specialist and volunteer bereavement counsellor for a leading UK charity.

Please note this talk isn't only relevant for bereavement, but also all losses we encounter in life, such as divorce, relationship breakdown, pet loss, chronic illness and workplace change.
