Images of God
God has always been thought of as a kindly, bearded old man…and so has been depicted that way.
Only in recent years has it been thought that God might be a woman but is represented as a female only in ‘deviant art’.
Since early medieval times both painters and sculptors have imaginatively portrayed him in a single hand.
Juliet’s talk reveals many images of God from the past to the present.
