The Portable Antiquities Scheme : Oxfordshire’s contribution to over 1.5 million finds!

The Portable Antiquities Scheme is run by the British Museum to encourage the recording of archaeological objects found by members of the public in England and Wales. Every year many thousands of archaeological objects are discovered, many of these by metal detector users, but also by people whilst out walking, gardening or going about their daily work. 

There will also be displays of finds made by local metal detectorists who will be pleased to tell you about their finds and how they work alongside The Portable Antiquities Scheme.

Finstock Village Hall, Bar open from 7.30pm. Talk begins at 8pm. 

Visitors very welcome admission £2.50
