Celebration of FarmED's heritage orchard planted in 2015, come and enjoy the apple blossom as well as the pollinating insects attracted to the orchard. Join Christine Elliott and Alex Dye on a walk and talk around the orchard looking at the differences in the blossom, the progression of flowering dates, tip and spur blossom, about pollination itself, the origins of apple varieties, the effects of winter/summer pruning, how to prune young trees, and the effect of rootstock on size of tree.
Christine is from Charlbury and passionate about heritage apple varieties; Alex is the insect specialist at FarmED.
