Wed 11 Nov: Hedge Planting - Hundley Way

Become a Hedgerow Hero

November 11th and 14th starting at 9.30am

Learn how to plant a new hedgerow here in Charlbury and help towards local nature recovery.

Hedgerows are a vital habitat, providing a nature corridor for bats and nesting birds. The blossom in spring encourages butterflies and insects. In winter they provide shelter for mammals such as hedgehogs and reptiles.

After 10 years or so they can be managed by hedge laying which is another skill you may wish to learn. If well cared for, they can last for centuries to come. Planting will begin at the two sites shown on the map on Wednesday November 11th and Saturday 14th November.

Everyone welcome. Sessions should last 2-3 hours depending on volunteer numbers. Just bring a pair of gloves.
