Thu 1 Apr 2027: Charlbury Society Talk with Philip Sharman DL

Climate Change: The importance of getting to net zero

Oxfordshire is recognised as a leading county in the UK in terms of sustainability and in moving towards net zero carbon emissions.

Mr Sharman was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for Oxfordshire in 2023 for his contributions to energy and sustainability. In 2025, he was appointed Chair of the Zero Carbon Oxfordshire Partnership (ZCOP), working across the county bringing organisations together to accelerate climate action towards a net zero and climate-resilient Oxfordshire.

Mr Sharman's extensive experience from across industry, government, and academia, with a career spanning over 40 years in the fields of low-carbon energy, sustainability, and climate change mitigation, will inform this discussion.

Please join us in the Memorial Hall for refreshments from 7.15pm. The talk will begin at 7.30pm and is free for members, £3 for guests.
