Thu 4 Mar 2027: Charlbury Society Talk with Liz Leffman

Local Government Reorganisation

Liz Leffman has been the District Councillor for Charlbury since 2012, and County Councillor since 2017.  She was Leader of Oxfordshire County Council for five years from May 2021.  During her time as Leader, she was involved in discussions with the government regarding devolution and led the County Council's bid to become a single unitary authority.

In July 2026, the Government announced plans to proceed with a three unitary council model. In September 2026, those plans were put on hold following an announcement of a wider review.

This should be a fascinating and topical discussion.

Please join us in the Memorial Hall for refreshments from 7.15pm. Talks begin at 7.30pm and are free for members, £3 for guests.
