Tue 19 May: Moths Matter !

Charlbury Wildlife Society

Compared to 59 species of butterfly in the UK, moths make up an amazingly diverse group, there are more than 2500 species of moth but because they are mostly active at night, we don't see them.   Moths are indicators of a healthy ecosystem and are a key source of food for birds and bats and other insectivorous creatures; and in pollination.

Dr Julian Parfit from Wild Wantage will help us identify local moths, learn to set up a moth trap, grow plants for moths and more.

Venue: Charlbury Friends Meeting House

Time: 19.30-21.00 hrs

Everyone is welcome. Free to members (membership £12.50 annually) and those under 18. A contribution of £5 is invited from anyone else to help fund CWS wildlife initiatives.
