Wed 18 Feb: Charlbury WI February meeting - 1940s Girl Guides
WW2 historians Brett and Karen Wiles will be giving a talk and presentation about the second largest all-female volunteering force ever - the 750,000 Girl Guides who were volunteered for war work displaying amazing responsibility and resourcefulness. We will learn about their motivation, their uniform, special training and the part they played in evacuation, emergency cooking, hospital work, and even undercover work.
