Why was rationing necessary in World War Two, how did the rationing system work, what was on ration and more importantly what foods were off ration?

A practical demonstration from The Home Front with music, recordings, and samples of food - Vinegar Cake, The National Loaf, Mock Banana and  Bread Pudding and more.
