Cook wanted - The Old Bakehouse, Chadlington

This is an opportunity for a motivated and highly organised person who can share our commitment to enhancing the lives of older people. 

We are looking for a passionate and caring Cook to join our team at The Old Bakehouse, Chadlington's supported independent living house for older people.

You will be responsible for the provision of a high standard of varied meals and to maintain the smooth running of the house in the absence of the House Staff.

Key duties will include:

  • Prepare and cook high quality meals from fresh ingredients to include any dietary requirements – you must also be aware of and know how to comply with current allergen legislation.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen, including washing up and ensure that the kitchen conforms to Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Standards
  • Complete accurate records for the kitchen areas including risk assessments, temperature records and any other information that needs to be recorded to meet current legislation.
  • Be responsible for the residents’ welfare in the absence of the House Staff and respond to any queries or emergencies.
  • Answer the telephone and residents’ enquiries as appropriate..

ONE POSITION AVALIABLE:

Week 1 - Monday, Friday, Saturday Sunday 9am-6pm

Week 2 - Monday and Friday 9am-6pm

on a 2-week rota. Alternate weekend working is included in the role.

Salary: £14.49 per hour

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Chadlington OX7 3NJ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
  • · You may be required to travel to our other houses on occasions for training, at other locations within the Abbeyfield Wessex region for cook cover.
