Windrush Day, 22 June
Exactly 75 years ago, on 22 June 1948, the ship 'Empire Windrush' arrived in Britain, and to mark the anniversary the Culture Tent at the Charlbury Beer Festival on Saturday 24 June is delighted to be hosting a talk by Eddy Smythe, the son of one of the driving forces behind the initiative. Eddy Smythe will be talking about ‘John Smythe QC, MBE: World War II airman, Empire Windrush pioneer, and Attorney General of Sierra Leone’.
