Charlbury Community Speedwatch News

Your Speedwatch Team has continued to operate through the winter and we have conducted three sessions since New Year; one on the Enstone Road and two on The Slade. Enstone Road was not a very happy experience and 13 registrations were forwarded to the Police for follow-up action. However, we are delighted to see in the region of 90% of drivers within the limit on The Slade - at least when we are on duty!

As a resident put it "Thanks for doing this today. As a resident living on The Slade I was able to witness the impact you guys had on the traffic speed today, it was incredible. I was able to observe from afar and it was amazing how the traffic slowed as they saw you. Well done to you all. If we could only find a way of permanently slowing traffic like this it would be an absolute joy and make living on The Slade a much better place to be".

And a Speedwatch team member remarked "I'm sure we all agree that expressions of gratitude such as yours, of passing pedestrians and the encouraging 'thumbs up' from motorists make it worthwhile".

We are always looking for additional volunteers to add to our team of 12 - please contact us on this email if you would like to help make Charlbury safer and even more pleasant. charlburycsw@gmail.com
