Tour of Britain road closure details

The Tour of Britain will be coming through town around 12.50pm on Saturday. Roads will be closed at least 15 minutes earlier, and for a while after, by a rolling roadblock.

It's possible that the riders may arrive earlier, especially if there's a breakaway group, so it's best to clear the roads by midday.

Alternative parking has been made available on the Wychwood Paddocks playing field (courtesy of Charlbury Primary School), just off Enstone Road, and the Cricket Club parking area at the foot of Dyers Hill - many thanks to both. There has been no formal notification that cars will need to be moved, though it would make for better TV pictures, and given the accident in Retford this week ( www.telegraph.co.uk/cycling/2017/09/06/riders-crash-parked-car-tour-britain-fourth-stage/ ) it may be advisable!

The children's ride will be taking place around 2pm to 3pm. The roads will not be formally closed for this but, where possible, leaving them clear for the kids would no doubt be welcome.
